| Experience has taught us that learning about money is very hard in America. It's going against the grain of a consuming culture. Advertising tries to push us back from being frugal. The ideas in Capitate Your Kids are simple, but not intuitive. There is no research on this topic, but the author's guess is that about 25% of families follow many of the principles in Capitate Your Kids. But many are so tired with the hard work of raising a family, and sincerely want something better for their kids. They mistakenly think giving kids whatever they want will help them become good money managers. It doesn't. It fails miserably! |
